American Classic Architecture is based in New Haven, Connecticut, but I usually have ongoing design projects stretching along the New England shoreline, beginning down in Greenwich, Connecticut, over to Newport, Rhode Island, and then up to Boston, Massachusetts and the surrounding suburbs. I work closely with clients throughout all stages of the design and building process, which sometimes begins with helping to choose a property to purchase, after which the design work itself can commence. These design services often include cabinet designs & layout, as well as interior & exterior lighting.

Oftentimes, I am asked to help my clients select a qualified general contractor for their project, with whom we then work to ensure proper execution of all details of the designs resulting from my collaboration with the client(s).

In addition to architectural design, I find I am also frequently asked to assist with the the design of walkways, patios, swimming pools, outdoor fireplaces, water features, fencing, stone walls, gates and other various hardscape & landscape elements. The needs of each project differ!

I do believe that good design, be it of an interior layout or exterior one, must be highly cognizant of furniture placement since this will affect how traffic will flow within a living space, as well as dictate where proper lighting should be positioned and where switches and electrical outlets should be located for ideal use. Additionally, furniture placement should be considered when deciding where HVAC ducts are to be installed so as to ensure maximum comfort within a room. And it should also never be overlooked when deciding where windows and doors should be situated.

I also frequently work with my clients to help them with their choice of interior trim, tile, plumbing & lighting fixtures, cabinet & door hardware, and even on some projects, custom furniture. I typically design and help source all cabinetry for kitchens, baths, libraries and and other rooms within a client’s house or apartment. (See Projects for information on Cabinet Design and Sales). My aim, simply, is to use good design to help create joyful living spaces for my clients.
